Aaron Sanders, Ph.D.


 Aaron SandersAaron Sanders, Ph.D., is the R&D manager for Stepan Oilfield Solutions and has worked in the petrochemical industry for 15 years. He has a broad background in the use of surfactants in upstream oilfield applications, particularly production, stimulation and enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Aaron has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) since 2006 and has co-chaired sessions in the SPE Middle East and North Sea workshops on Flow Assurance. 

His key technical contributions have been in the areas of high-temperature-stable surfactants for use in steam foam, as well as CO2 soluble surfactants for miscible gas flooding. Aaron is an author on more than 40 patents and papers. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from The University of Wisconsin – Madison.
