Stepan Company will showcase its new line of polymeric, nonionic dispersants and structured surfactant technology at ASTM International’s Agricultural Formulation and Application Symposium, Oct. 17 – 18 at the Tsukuba International Congress Center in Tsukuba, Japan. David Allen, Director of Research and Development for Functional Additives, will deliver insights into Stepan’s polymeric dispersants and structured surfactant technology in a poster session and technical presentation at the event.
“Structured Surfactant Technology: Novel suspension system by surfactant self-assembly” 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17.
Stepan has been using structured surfactant technology to develop highly complex formulations that demonstrate enhanced performance benefits compared to formulations that employ conventional rheology modifiers. Allen will present the continuation of Stepan’s work with new examples that address many of the challenges that agricultural formulators face today.
“Novel Polymeric Dispersants for Application in Suspension Concentrate and Seed Coating Formulations” 2:20 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18.
Stepan has developed a new line of polymeric, nonionic dispersants for dispersing hydrophobic molecules in aqueous suspension concentrates. These dispersants deliver superior dispersion performance of a wide range of organic molecules, crystal growth inhibition properties, and improved film formation qualities. In this technical presentation, Allen will evaluate the process of these novel polymeric dispersants and detail the role of the dispersants in both formulation stability and application performance.
