Low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) regulations have recently driven demand for waterborne systems, making it more difficult for formulators to achieve high-quality coating performance at a low cost. Stepan Company has a new, patented class of high-performance polymeric dispersants that offers a cost-effective and VOC-free solution to these challenges. Stepan’s C.A.S.E. team will showcase this new technology at the Western Coatings Show, Oct. 20 – 23, at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas, booth 408.
Carolina Vargas, Stepan Company Research and Development Manager for Functional Additives Innovation also will speak about a “Novel VOC-Free Solution for Effective Wetting and Dispersing of Challenging Pigments” at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Champagne Room 1. Those who attend will get the chance to learn about Stepan’s unique approach to today’s formulation challenges. Vargas will share experimental results demonstrating the ability of Stepan’s polymeric dispersant technology to deliver high-quality pigmented coatings without the need for additives.
Other Stepan product highlights include the STEPANPOL® product line that has new, high-functional, low-viscosity (HFLV) polyester polyols for high solids, 2K polyurethane coatings; the RUCOTE® product line featuring new resins for superdurable, one-shot matte formulations with Primid® and a new resin for low temperature cure.
The Western Coatings Show is a paints and coatings trade show serving primarily, but not exclusively, western USA and Canada. In addition to the tabletop exhibition, the event provides a technical program with educational opportunities for professionals in the industry to stay up-to-date on the latest coatings trends and innovations.
