September 28, 2020

Stepan Personal Care’s latest sustainable hair conditioning agent, STEPANQUAT® Soleil, has been nominated for the In-Cosmetics 2020 Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award. Ingredients nominated for this award must combine innovative science and product features in a way that demonstrates substantial benefits to manufacturers and to end-users when compared to existing ingredients.

STEPANQUAT Soleil is a novel hair conditioning quat that offers a better story for the consumer, the formulator and the environment. As a readily biodegradable ingredient that is derived from European-sourced, GMO-free sunflower oil. It does not contain any additives and has a better environmental profile than the most popular quats in the hair care industry, behentrimonium chloride (BTAC) and cetrimonium chloride (CETAC).

This 100% active conditioning cationic in liquid form will delight formulators as it is easier, quicker and safer to use. With its formulation flexibility, formulators can explore all kinds of textures and product forms to create unique personal care products that will impress consumers.

Stepan Personal Care’s latest novel hair conditioning agent also is featured in the August 2020 issue of Personal Care Magazine. Click here to read the article.
