Milan Bartos, Ph.D.

Milan BartosMilan Bartos is a research associate at Stepan Oilfield Solutions where he focuses on oilfield corrosion inhibitors. He is also a long-time member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), and has served in a variety of roles, including TEG and STG chairman, program coordinator, as well as symposia chair and reviewer. In late 90’s, he led the ASTM G01.05.11.01 task group that produced the widely referenced G170 standard guide, which eventually spawned three more standard practices for evaluating oilfield corrosion inhibitors under high shear conditions.

Prior to joining Stepan Oilfield Solutions, Milan was a materials and corrosion engineer in BP America's Upstream Engineering Center, supporting deep water production in the Gulf of Mexico. He earned a masters degree in chemistry and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague, Czech Republic. Milan was also a Robert A. Welch Foundation postdoctoral fellow at Rice University where studied acid corrosion inhibition and iron passivation.
