Brian Seymour

Brian SeymourBrian Seymour is a functional chemist with Stepan Oilfield Solutions. He graduated from Albion College with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.

He began his oilfield career at Weatherford International's R&D cementing group. He evaluated cement additives, and designed and tested cement slurries for wells that have challenging conditions across the world. He later joined Nabors Well Services (later C&J Energy Services) as a technical specialist. There he collaborated closely with the engineering group and field operations with cement and fracturing projects in the Eagleford Basin.

At Stepan, Brian has been researching how to improve gas well deliquification and slickwater fracturing methods using surfactants.

Meet Brian at an upcoming event

Brian Seymour will give a talk on boosting friction reducer performance at the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference on July 25, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. His presentation is part of the Advanced Materials and Chemistry session in Room 351. Brian will give insight into Stepan Oilfield Solutions' ongoing investigation on how nonionic surfactants enhance the performance of friction reducer polymers in high salt conditions.
