Submission Instructions

 

To submit a solution to Stepan Company challenges, you must first register on the Stepan website (www.stepan.com). Registration is easy to do and free of charge. Once you have registered, you will be prompted to read and agree to an electronic confidentiality agreement. All participants must read and agree to an electronic confidentiality agreement in order to submit solutions to challenges and thus be eligible to win the reward.

 

If your submitted solution is novel and patentable, and if you win a challenge, your solution becomes the property of Stepan Company, while you win a cash reward!   Stepan Company receives an exclusive license to use any of the submissions that are submitted by participants.

 

Let’s get started!

 

You should create a solution that:

1. meets all of the challenge requirements,
2. is economically feasible,
3. is a best match to Stepan Company’s existing manufacturing assets,
4. is not confidential information belonging to any other entity,
5. has the most potential for being patent-protected, and
6. has the best potential for satisfying Stepan’s customers.

Then,

Read and agree to the electronic confidentiality agreement and check the “I have read and agree to” box. You will receive an email confirmation that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions stated in the electronic confidentiality agreement.

Tips for emailing your solution:

The subject line of your email should contain the challenge for which you are submitting materials. Include all test methods, procedures and relevant materials that will differentiate your solution from others.

 

Note: You must be registered, read and electronically agree to the confidentiality agreement to submit a solution. You may also submit more than one solution to a given challenge. For each posted challenge, a new electronic confidentiality agreement must be read and agree to.
